這個作品意圖將同一事件中兩個完全相反的極點並置拼貼在一起。躺在藤椅上的詭異人體其頭部是日本甲級二戰戰犯東條英機,身體則是取材自網路圖片資料的中國受害婦女形象。二者在南京大屠殺事件中,一方是受害者,其手腳被綁在客廳的藤椅上,全身赤裸下體外張,以方便日軍的輪暴,甚至失去了生命也沒有停止;在這裡暴力已成為了儀式,良知面對了集體的黑暗也只好保持沉默;而另一方是加害者,是大屠殺的執行者,戰前的民族英雄,甚至上過時代雜誌封面,最終也受到了軍事法庭的制裁,成了甲級戰犯被處死了。施暴者和受暴者兩者皆因南京大屠殺而死了。距離二戰結束已半個世紀了,這段歷史事實不斷地被單方面否認,而隨著中國的崛起,必定會加強宣傳的力度,如同猶太人在好萊塢不斷對世界人民所做的文化教育一般,這宣傳工作必定會愈加增重,屆時日本必定道歉,除非中國不再崛起。其實歷史上各民族遭受如此悲劇的例子不勝枚舉,但要人認罪是比報復還要複雜的工作,做不了這工作的難道只有等著被遺忘的機會?

The intention of this work is to combine together two entirely oppositional extremes from one historical event. The abnormal figure reclining on a rattan chair has the head of Japanese World War II first class war criminal, Toujou Hideki, while the body is that of a Chinese female victim, drawn directly from historical photos found on the internet. Both were part of the Nanjing Massacre: one party was the victim, her hands and feet bound to the rattan chair, entirely exposed and lower limbs spread wide to facilitate gang-rape by Japanese troops, even after losing her life, the cruelty did not stop. Herein, violence became a ceremonial rite, when good conscious is faced with the collective darkness, it has no choice but to maintain silence. The other party was the perpetrator of the Nanjing massacre, before the war he was a national hero, even having been featured on the cover of the Time magazine, but was ultimately punished by the military tribunal as a first class war criminal and executed. Both violator and victim died because of the Nanjing massacre. It has already been half a century since the end of WWII and yet the facts of this period have been continuously repudiated by the Japanese. The rise of China means that more and more publicity will be given to this subject. Just as Jews have used Hollywood to educate the world about the atrocities of the Holocaust, this dissemination work will continue to increase and Japan will eventually have to apologize for its actions, unless China ceases to rise in power and prominence. In actuality, historical examples of this type of ethnic tragedy are innumerable, but getting people to admit guilt is an even more complicated task than retaliation. Facing this impossible task, can it be that the only option is to wait until things are forgotten?
